Penteris is glad to welcome onboard Joanna Piechowiak, expert in litigation and dispute resolution, construction, and intellectual property.
Joanna’s professional background includes advising clients from a variety of industries, such as construction and automotive companies as well as insurance and financial institutions. She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University of Kraków. Joanna gained intercultural experience while studying at the University of Barcelona, and she continues to have a cross-border perspective whilst providing legal services both to domestic and international clients. Joanna enjoys legal challenges and searching for the most effective solutions for clients.
Joanna previously worked for Allen & Overy and Rö, and her professional experience includes advising on financial, construction, and investment deals; representing clients in litigation proceedings along with arbitration and interim injunction proceedings, payment, and IP-related matters.
With litigation and dispute resolution as her main practice areas, Joanna represents clients before state and arbitration courts focusing mostly on the performance of commercial contracts and the enforcement of securities in disputes concerning e.g. public procurement contracts for construction work and cases involving bank and insurance guarantees. Furthermore, she has a deep interest in intellectual property and unfair competition cases and provides legal advice in these areas.
Joanna’s experience also covers all stages of dispute resolution – beginning with the search for an out-of-court settlement, through obtaining interim injunctions and court litigation, ending with the enforcement of judgements both in Poland as well as working on enforcement proceedings abroad.
